Reading time

Camden loves his little books to read through.  We read the ones that are 3D, meaning that if an animal has fur, there is actual little fur poking out of the page.  I rub the furry ones on his face.  But, please, don't pay attention to the fact that he's reading this book upside down.  I told you he was smart.

A quickie

These sightings are rare to capture.  Why?  Because, a) he's a little one that wants to GO! b) Auntie doesn't like her picture taken very often.  They snuggle all the time but I don't necessarily have my camera handy.  Auntie was tickling him and he was having a grand ol' time with it.

He's loving the sound of his voice

Louder, please from Lorna King on Vimeo.

When these two get together, expect noise.  Lots of noise.  Of course, Mommy encourages it.

Just add milk

This dish of Capn Crunch looks really good to me.  Move over, honey, time for Mimi's breakfast.

What exactly are you saying, Camden?

Oh!  It's time to start thinking about a brother or sister?  Yes, it is....

When it gets quiet around here

I had been changing Olivia's diaper when I realized that the house was much too quiet with two other little ones in it.   Then I heard it.  Sammy saying, "sshhhh, Panda, be twy-it"  That tells me that I need my camera because these two?  In another year, they will be a handful!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOMMY!

When I was a young girl....(yawn)

Don't you hate hearing those opening words?  Anyway, you have to listen now!  When I was a teenager, Quaker Oats came out with a great cereal called Peanut Butter Crunch.  Oh how I loved that cereal.  I would eat handfuls of it.  My mom had to keep several boxes at all times in the house as my younger brother and I would fight over it.  Fast forward a few more years and my children are old enough to eat cold cereal.  I introduced them to the great and mighty Peanut Butter Crunch.  They fell as hard for it as I did but I didn't keep boxes of it around.  Fast forward again to vacations in the Tetons.  I would buy a couple of boxes to have as a special treat for myself during vacation.  I might get ONE BOWL because my children discovered the special treat and would scarf all of it down.  I actually began to hide the cereal so they wouldn't find it!  And now?  Mommy has introduced her own little man to this cereal (gluten free).  He loves it!!  Between he and I we could finish this off in seconds flat!

Don't let that innocent look fool you.

Right after this shot was taken, Camden turned to his cousin and grabbed her ear.  Then her hair.  Then he tried to take her necklace.  All in a day's work.

Walking man

Around and around from Lorna King on Vimeo.

He likes to walk holding onto the car but if he manages to actually get into the car seat itself?  He falls through under the steering wheel yelling for help.  Or at least his version of help which goes like this, " Whaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!"

Time out

This is what happens when you just don't listen.  You get locked up until you can behave.

Eh, what's up, Doc?

Camden has teeth sprouting right and left these days.  Two upper molars have come in in the last week, making these numbers 9 and 10 for teeth.  I gave him this carrot to gnaw on and he loved it.

Last one...

This was the last hat that I could try on Camden without him throwing a total revolt.  This is the best kind of hat for little ones even though it doesn't have a strap for his chin.  It covers his face, nose and ears.  But, boy, does he need a chin strap!!

Hats off!

As cute as this little stinker is, he really doesn't like to wear hats or have hats on people who are holding him.  Just ask his Uncle Tippy.  If you can distract him, you might be able to snap a photo before he flings the hat off into space.  Or my face..it was the closest thing for him to hit.

The shades make the man....

Yesterday, Camden and I went on a little shopping expedition.  My plan was merely to go grocery shopping but somehow we ended up at the mall and in a children's shop.  Yep.  Saw these shades and HAD to get them for him.  There are flames on the sides of them..it made me laugh!  Doesn't he look so cute?

Wanna cruise Main?

Camden is thinking, "I'm here without my cousins.  The car is ALL mine to play with.  There is no sharing today!!"

More cookies

Camden was here yesterday to help me make even more cookies.  This time they were chocolate chip.
But all I had were mini chocolate chips...he loved those!

Dark meat or white meat?

By the looks on his face, I would say, give this a try another time.  This turkey drumstick was too heavy for him to hold.

So very patient

Yes, he is all little boy with his hightop tennis shoes, jeans with rolled up cuffs, and little polo shirt.  He's waiting very patiently for his Mommy to come inside.  He can see her out the window wondering what's taking her so long.  He wants a hug...NOW!

Uh oh....

Now that Camden is one and his doctor has said that there are no food restrictions anymore, Camden has been subject to all kinds of tastes.  It looks like he and his Papa are having a little cocktail here, but actually Camden didn't even like the smell of this so he didn't even try to taste it.

Baking cookies with Mimi

This is the first time that I've made cookies with my little guy.  Dulce de Leche sandwich cookies.  Pretty good stuff.  And he loved the chocolate de leche too!

The consequences

This is the result between a one year old wanting a specific cabinet to play in and a homeowner insisting that the dvd, tv, and media cabinet is NOT for anyone who is not potty trained yet.

Move over!

You would think that with all the room to sit and play, Camden would find a place that wouldn't entail sitting back to back with his cousin, Olivia.   He sat here, using her as his backrest for the longest time!

One year check up

This is Camden's doctor and his laptop.  Camden really wanted to help his doctor with his laptop.  The nice doctor knows kids pretty well and was quite fast at closing the laptop or moving it out of the way before Camden's little hand could grab it.  As it is, we have a new notch to put on the door frame for height:  27.5 inches!

Costa Rica trip

Camdens Adventure from Mark Lamerdin on Vimeo.

This is from Daddy and Mommy's friends, Mark and Sandy. Mark did an awesome job directing the whole crew and his post-production facility in Marin County rivals his next door neighbor, Steve. Steve Lucas. Sit back and enjoy!

Not yet

He's not walking on his own yet but he loves to pull himself up and walk around things holding on.  It's only a matter of time.
