Taking a break

Camden is taking a little break from the hike.  His legs have to work twice as hard and twice as fast to keep up with Daddy!

Here is the reason that this blog has not been updated for a few days....they have been camping in a national park nearby....can you guess where?

It's that time of year

when the Halloween decorations come out with all the creepy crawlies.  Camden just stared and stared at these giant spiders.

Fig Newtons

These were my favorite cookie as a child.  And pretty much as an adult.  It is a comfort cookie to me.  I remember watching Chiller Diller Matinee on Saturday afternoons at home with a handful of these to sustain me through the scariness.  Now Camden is trying them with mixed results.  He'll eat it one bite at a time...slowly.  I think that he's not sure about the crunch factor.....

Occupied

I got him these little Hot Wheels type of cars, set of six, and it kept him occupied ALL DAY LONG.  He went down for his nap saying, "Tar!"  He woke up from his nap saying, "Tar!"

Tar!

That's baby speak for CAR!  And Camden picks out his tars as soon as the toy box is brought out.  Such a little boy!!

Camden's little sister OR brother.  We don't know and won't know until next February.  Isn't she/he cute??

Remembering the younger days

Camden likes getting into his 'old' swing.  In a few more months, little one, you will have to abdicate this to your younger sibling!

One year ago today

Camden participated in his very first race.  Of course, he wasn't even crawling then, but between Mama and Daddy pushing the stroller, he crossed the finish line!

Yea! Pancakes!

Camden's list of foods he'll eat is getting longer day by day.  Here he is enjoying Mama's pancakes!

I'm a big boy now

Camden has started to use a regular spoon..no baby spoon for him, no way.  But what he really really likes is....almond butter!

Mama barely got home from one wedding when she had to turn around and leave for another one.  This time without her little guy.  And the case of Corona.

Special people

Camden got to see his other grandparents last weekend.  Hi Grampa Bob and Gramma Dee!  I still see the family resemblence between Camden and his grandfather!

Small children catered to

The reception was lovely and a bonus to it was that for every child there, they brought out extra special meals.  Here Camden digs into (with a big boy spoon!) a bowl of diced fruit.  Little, itty-bitty pieces just right for little mouths.

The calm before the storm

A few minutes after this, little one here needed to be taken for a walk with Daddy further away from the ceremony.  He joined his younger cousin there, too!

I'll be on my best behavior. I promise.

Here is Camden arriving at the wedding.  He's looking forward to it.  Particularly the part of 'cake' and 'dancing'!

Like this?

Camden is just learning how to show me something he's holding for me to take a photo of.  Here is showing me the olive I had given him.  This was a big deal because he is a picky eater and he doesn't know whether to trust me with food that I give him.  (He's been tricked before!)  But lo and behold, he likes black olives!  Yea...one small step for man and one giant leap for mankind.

What's behind door number one?

Camden knows exactly which cabinet I will let him into.  This is not it.  Not even close to the "ok" cabinet but that doesn't stop him from testing the child locks out.  He's a smart little guy and he recognizes the word 'no' as he skedaddles away from whatever incited the 'no'.

Stand back

Boy, does Camden ever love nectarines!  I could barely cut this up fast enough as he was shoveling down his gullet!  He finished in record time and looked at me with a 'well?  I want more now, Woman!!'
